Control click heading to hear "Universe" (May 15, 1955).
This is Robert A. Heinlein's Future History chart, first published in the May 1941 issue of Astounding Science Fiction (along with "Universe"). It was later reprinted in the back pages of some of Heinlein's early 1950s Signet paperbacks. I used Photoshop to increase the size so it will be more readable when clicked. To read two of the Future History stories ("The Green Hills of Earth" and "The Menace from Earth"), go here.

2 heads are better than 1.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly sure the charts were first published in the Shasta editions - the Signet editions being the mass market reprints.
ReplyDeleteThe chart was first published in the Shasta hardcovers - then in the Signet mass market editions.
ReplyDeleteThe Shasta editions are really spiffy, but not cheap these days. Well worth picking up if you win the lottery.
Heinlein's "Universe" confirmed me as an atheist when I was 13. The implications were enormous.
