Wood Chips 27: Dr Pepper and Dr. Pepper

.
This clarifies "Wood Chips 8" (February 24, 2009) which had little info about the rough below. The juxtaposition here makes it clear that this was not an independent sketch but was a drawing by Wood prior to painting the Dr Pepper ad (previously posted August 23, 2006).

The ad at bottom has nothing to do with Wood but shows the earlier Dr Pepper logo before the dot was dropped from Dr. Pepper.

  1. Great post! I couldn't help but notice the odd copy in this ad though: "America's most misunderstood soft drink" seems like an unlikely tag line. but the story about how drinking Dr Pepper kept a man off of death row is so much more than hyperbole! That's a claim you can bank on!

  2. Wow! Wood's one of my favorite artists, and Dr Pepper is one of my favorite drinks. What a knockout combo this ad is for me.
